Vet designed

Designed by emergency vet Dr Duncan Houston. Worn by Gary, a Ragdoll well over 4 kg, on his harness walks.

Why this set

  • Designed by Dr Duncan Houston
  • Worn by Gary
  • One dot per cat
  • Cats over 4 kg, each

How it works

Why two cats need two trackers, and what one plan covers

Illustrated woman sitting cross-legged and pointing at a phone that shows Cat 1 and Cat 2 on the map, a cat on each side of her: one wears the white Cat GPS Tracker and the other the black one, each on a purple collar

One dot each, because two cats go two ways

Cats who share a house do not share a route.

  • Nothing about the shy oneOne is under the neighbour's deck and the other is three gardens the other way, and a single tracker on the bolder one tells you nothing about the shy one.
  • Two dots, two zonesEach tracker sends its own position over its own mobile connection; the app shows two dots, two zones and two sets of alerts, named for the cat wearing it.
Illustrated woman kneeling and pointing at a phone that shows a week of activity and sleep for Cat 1 and Cat 2, while one cat eats from the bowl and the other lies beside it; one wears the white Cat GPS Tracker and the other the black one

Two cats, one bowl: which one is doing less?

Cats hide illness, and in a two-cat house they hide it twice as well, because the bowl is shared and "someone is eating less" has no name on it.

  • Each cat's activity and sleepEach tracker logs its own cat's activity minutes and sleep, so a week of doing less belongs to one of them, and the graph goes to the vet with her.
  • Rules, not diagnosesThe tips are rules, not diagnoses; the trend is the point.
Illustrated woman sitting cross-legged and holding out the black Cat GPS Tracker to a cat, a second cat beside it already wearing the white one, her phone showing Premium with Cat 1 and Cat 2 both ticked

Two trackers, one plan, the same rules

Live tracking needs a plan slot per tracker: one Premium plan carries two slots and adds AI Vet Chat and two certified vet chats a month; a Tracker Plan carries one.

  • Weigh both, a breakaway collar eachEach tracker is 68 g and rated for cats over 4 kg, so weigh both; each goes on a breakaway collar.
  • What two trackers cost apartThe set costs what two trackers cost apart today.

Three rules for choosing

  • Weigh both. Each tracker is 68 g and the maker rates it for cats over 4 kg, each cat separately. A pair where one is lighter is the Track & Scan Bundle instead: the tracker for the big one, the battery-free tag for the small one, and the tracker later.

  • The plan: every tracker needs a plan slot. Premium carries two slots, so one plan runs both trackers and adds the vet chat; a Tracker Plan carries one, with extra slots as a paid add-on. Chosen in the app when each tracker is set up, price shown first.

  • Breakaway collars, both, and two charging days. Fit each under the chin or to one side with two fingers under the collar, add each tracker to its own cat's profile so the dots have names, and charge them on different days so one cat is never off the map while the other charges. Check the skin under each every time it comes off.

Specifications

In the box
Two Cat GPS Trackers, each with one USB-C cable, two silicone straps and a quick-start guide. No collars, no charger plugs
Each tracker
57 x 45.4 x 21.5 mm, 68 g with its strap; GPS for position and its own mobile connection (LTE-M or NB-IoT through partner networks) to send it; Bluetooth radar, a light and eight collar tones for nearby finding; IPX67; a colour touchscreen with a QR ID in lost mode; up to 2 weeks of battery in normal tracking; USB-C charging. Cats over 4 kg
Coverage
Each tracker needs GPS reception and mobile coverage where that cat is; check the country list on askavet.com before buying. When reception is weak the app shows the last reported position and its accuracy
Plans for two trackers
Premium: two tracker slots, unlimited AI Vet Chat, two certified vet chats a month, health tracking. Tracker Plan: one slot, extra slots a paid add-on. Annual billing for less. Prices are on askavet.com; the app shows them before anything is charged. The QR ID on each screen is free

How to

How to set up two, fit two, and keep both charged

  • Illustrated woman kneeling between two cats on pet scales, her phone open at the coverage page on askavet.com: the cat on 5.2 kg wears the white Cat GPS Tracker, the cat on 3.6 kg a pink chocolate-bar Cat Smart ID Tag

Weigh both, and check the coverage

Over 4 kg each, or the lighter one wears a tag for now. Then the country list on askavet.com: each tracker needs mobile coverage where that cat goes.

  • Illustrated woman kneeling to point at the white and the black Cat GPS Tracker charging side by side on a tray, each from its own wall socket, two cats in purple collars watching

Charge both to full and add each to its own cat

USB-C, then the Ask A Vet app: one profile per cat, one tracker per profile, named. The app asks you to pick a plan here, with the price shown first; Premium covers both.

  • Illustrated woman setting up zones on her phone between two cats in the black and the white Cat GPS Tracker, beside the app's virtual fence round the house, a power-saving zone on the home Wi-Fi for both cats and alerts on for Cat 1 and Cat 2

    Draw each cat's zones

Home zone out to the road, not round the garden, for each; a power-saving zone on your home Wi-Fi for both. Two cats can share a home zone and still get their own alerts.

  • Illustrated woman sitting cross-legged and checking the fit of a cat's purple collar with her fingers beside the white Cat GPS Tracker, a second cat lying nearby in the black one

    Fit both to breakaway collars

Strap under the chin or to one side, screen out, two fingers under the collar. A week indoors wearing them before either goes out, watching how each moves and the skin under each.

  • Illustrated woman stroking the chin of a cat with its collar off, while the white Cat GPS Tracker charges from a power bank on a stool beside a card marking Sunday for the white tracker and Wednesday for the black, a second cat wearing the black one

Charge on two days, not one

Tracker one on Sunday, tracker two on Wednesday, the skin under each looked at while it is off. Two trackers dying together on a Saturday night is a schedule problem, not a battery problem.

Vet noteDr Duncan Houston, emergency veterinarian

A cat's collar must be breakaway, no exceptions, and a tracker on it does not change that; a cat hung up by her collar is an emergency I have treated, and a snap-open collar is the whole defence, twice over here. Cats under 4 kg do not wear this; a lighter cat in the pair wears the tag. Check the skin under each tracker and collar every time you charge it: rubbing, hair loss or a sore means it comes off until healed and goes back looser, or not at all. Two cats sharing a house also share parasites and infections, so a cat who comes home after days away is a vet check even when she looks fine, and the one who stayed home is watched. The activity and sleep tips are rules, not diagnoses: in a two-cat house the graph is how you know which cat to bring in, and bringing her in is still the part that matters. The safest cats are the ones who are indoors at night, both of them. If anything about their collars, their skin or their numbers worries you, ask your vet.

Why two

Two cats do not go missing together. So they do not share a dot.

Two cats who go out go two ways, and the one who is home tells you nothing about the one who is not.

  • A tracker eachThat is the plain case for a tracker each.
  • Where a sick cat hides longestThe quieter one is about illness. A two-cat house is where a sick cat hides longest: shared bowls, shared trays, and you cannot tell which of them ate less this week or slept more.
  • Two trackers, two recordsTwo trackers keep two records, so "one of them is off" becomes "this one is off", and that is the graph you bring to the vet.
  • One Premium planOne Premium plan covers both.
  • Over 4 kg, breakaway collarEach cat over 4 kg, each on a breakaway collar.

    • Dual GPS trackers allow simultaneous monitoring of multiple cats independently. The app interface displays both locations clearly and updated constantly.

    • I chose different colourways so I can distinguish each cat's tracker both on the collar and on the app map — one dot is labelled Ptolemy, one is labelled Cassini. The colour choice also means the trackers are personalised to each cat's personality. Practical and charming simultaneously.

    FAQ

Two Trackers Bundle questions, answered by a vet

    Shipping and returns

    Dispatch
Tracking sent when it ships; dispatch and delivery times by country are on the shipping page.
    Delivery
Tracked, worldwide. Two lithium batteries in the box, so some routes and carriers restrict it; international orders may attract duties.
    Returns
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are covered within 7 days of delivery. Email hello@purrz.com to start.
    Do I need two subscriptions?

You need two plan slots, not two plans. Premium carries two tracker slots, so one plan runs both trackers, and it adds unlimited AI Vet Chat and two certified vet chats a month. A Tracker Plan carries one slot, with extra slots as a paid add-on. The app asks you to choose when you set the first tracker up and shows the price first. The QR ID on each screen is free.

Why buy the set rather than two trackers?

Today, for the box: the set costs what two trackers cost. What you get is both in one order and one delivery, set up together on one Premium plan. If the set is ever priced below two trackers the strike-through on this page shows it the same day; until then, buy whichever suits you.

Are both my cats big enough?

Each tracker is 68 g with its strap and 57 x 45 x 22 mm, and the maker rates it for cats over 4 kg, each cat on her own, so weigh both. If one is lighter, the Track & Scan Bundle is the right buy: the tracker for the big one, the battery-free Cat Smart ID Tag for the small one, and a second tracker when she is bigger.

How do I tell the two apart in the app?

Each tracker is added to its own cat's profile and takes her name, so the map shows two named dots, and each has her own zones, alerts, activity and sleep. Two cats can share a home zone and still alert separately. Family sharing lets the household see both. Set the first up before the second so nothing gets paired to the wrong cat.

Will it work where I live, and does my phone need to be near them?

Each tracker needs GPS reception and mobile coverage where that cat is, through partner networks, so check the country list on askavet.com before you buy; your phone does not need to be anywhere near either of them. When reception is weak the app shows each tracker's last reported position and how accurate it was, and catches up when she is back in coverage.

How long do the batteries last, and how do I manage two?

Up to two weeks each in normal tracking, less with live tracking, cold weather or poor reception. Charge them on different days of the week, so one cat is never off the map while the other charges, and look at the skin under each strap while it is off. A power-saving zone on your home Wi-Fi stops both hunting for satellites indoors.

What if one arrives damaged, or a cat will not wear hers?

Email hello@purrz.com within 7 days of delivery with a photo and your order number; faulty, damaged or incorrect items are covered and we pay the return shipping when the error is ours. A cat who scratches at her tracker for a week wears a tag alone for now; the other cat keeps hers. That is a cat, not a fault.

Part of the Ask A Vet ecosystem

PURRZ™ is the cat product arm of Ask A Vet, Dr Duncan Houston's animal health platform. Both trackers' maps, both cats' profiles, their weights, vaccinations and symptoms, worming and flea reminders, and a certified vet to chat to when something is not right, all in one app, on one Premium plan.
