We're a passionate group of Emergency Vets and foster carers from Sydney, Australia, dedicated to improving the lives of cats. By using our combined expertise, we aim to provide comfort and support to both cats and their families, helping re-home and rehabilitate felines in need.

I’m Dr Duncan Houston, BVSc — the founder (and the only human on this operation). And then there’s Gary: my fluffy Ragdoll, professional lounger, and self-appointed Head of Quality Control.
Gary “tests” everything with an elite-level attitude:
- Nap Test: If it’s not insanely cozy, it’s rejected.
- Sniff Test: One sniff = maybe. Two sniffs + side-eye = absolutely not.
- Chaos Test: If it doesn’t keep him calm and entertained, expect a protest.
And his eating habits? Honestly… art. Gary is a fussy little food critic who:
- Inspects meals like he’s judging a cooking show
- Demands the perfect texture (or he simply walks away like you don’t exist)
- Prefers “freshly served” even if it’s literally the same thing from 10 minutes ago
- Tries to sample anything new because obviously it was purchased for him specifically
So here’s the mission: make cats happier, calmer, and beautifully spoiled — with products that pass the Gary Standard… and the vet standard. And remember, time to make your cat…

Meet the Founder
Dr. Duncan Houston graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017 with a plan to specialize in wildlife care but soon found his true passion in emergency and critical care.
With experience across specialist hospitals, small animal clinics, and wildlife rescue, Duncan brings a unique blend of veterinary expertise, product innovation and a deep commitment to animal welfare.
Beyond his veterinary career, he has spent over a decade in animal nutrition and product development, ensuring that every Purrz bed meets the highest standards of safety, comfort and quality.
