Dr Duncan Houston outdoors holding Gary, his Ragdoll

Why PURRZ™ exists

“Designed on night shift. Tested by Gary.”

Every product on this page exists because of something I see in the emergency room: the blocked tom who needed a quieter place to be, the old cat who stopped climbing and nobody noticed, the kitten who ate the string off a cheap wand. I design PURRZ™ around what cats are built to do, which is scratch, climb, hunt and hide, and I say plainly what a product will not do: a bed does not treat anything, and a tag is a layer on top of the microchip, not a replacement. Gary, my leash-trained Ragdoll, tests everything first. If he ignores it, it does not go on sale.

  • Cats love this. It is a bit smaller than I thought it would be but they love it regardless and they are fussy with toys.

  • My cats love this tunnel! Both as a hideaway and as a perch..or one loves to doze on top of it. The texture is very appealing . It was straightforward to put together yes sturdy enough once assembled, to take some enthusiastic play!

  • My cat can finally see the birds up close again, and the sunlight is only partially shining through, so it's not too hot, just warm – my cat loves that! Plus, being up there avoids the dogs bothering her.

Questions cat owners ask us

Short answers from the vet who designs the range. Health questions go to your own vet, or a certified vet in the Ask A Vet app.

Where do I start if my cat is wrecking the furniture?

With the scratcher, placed right beside whatever she is scratching now. Cats do not move to a better surface across the room; they use the one where the habit lives. Choose a tall post if she stretches up the sofa arm, a lounge or pad if she goes sideways along the carpet. Move it a hand-width a day once she is using it.

Which size cave or bed does my cat need?

Measure her curled up and stretched out. A cave needs enough floor for her to turn around and lie flat; a bed should be about a hand longer than her curled length. The Cubby Cave and the Deluxe Donut Bed come in two sizes, and the size guide on this site takes the measurements and tells you which.

Are the feather toys safe to leave out?

Wands, string and feathers are for play with you, then put away. Anything on a string is a swallowing risk when nobody is watching; that is one of the surgeries we see. The Boulder, the High Roller Dice, the Puzzle Pal and the Expand & Flex Toy are the ones built to be left out.

Do the prices include shipping, and why are they in US dollars?

Shipping is free over a minimum spend and tracked on every order; the shipping page gives dispatch and delivery times and duties by country. Prices show in US dollars because the store sells in one currency from one warehouse; use the country selector in the header to see your own currency.

Can I return something my cat ignores?

Unused items in their packaging follow the refund policy in the footer. If something arrives damaged, photograph it and email hello@purrz.com the same day and we sort it. A cat ignoring a product on day one is normal; leave it in place for two weeks before you decide.

What is the difference between the Smart ID Tag and the GPS tracker?

The tag is passive: no battery, no subscription, and whoever finds your cat scans or taps it with any phone and reaches you. The GPS tracker shows her live location and activity in the Ask A Vet app, and needs charging, mobile coverage and the Ask A Vet Tracker Plan. Neither replaces the microchip; both sit on top of it.

Are the reviews real?

Yes. Judge.me collects them from customers after delivery and shows each one on the product it belongs to. The figures on this page are the store's totals across every product, read live from Judge.me.
